The multifunctional Ca2+/ calmodulin dependent protein kinase II also known as Calcium/calmodulin Kinase (CaMK II) is a well known effector of calcium and calmodulin-mediated functions. It is present in many tissue but it is abundant in brain. CaMKII also required for synaptic plasticity such as Long Term Potentiation (LTP), a cellular model for learning and memory.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000.
Immunocytochemistry: 1:100.
Immunofluorescence: 1:100. (Staining can be weak.)
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Controls:
Human, mouse or rat brain
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
