The multifunctional Ca2+/ calmodulin dependent protein kinase II also known as Calium/calmodulin Kinase (CaMK II) is a well known effector of calcium and calmodulin- mediated functions. It is present in many tissue but it is abundant in brain.CaMKII also required for synaptic plasticity such as Long Term Potentiation (LTP), a cellular model for learning and memory.
Cellular Localization: Expressed in cardiac muscle and skeletal muscle (cytoplasmic).
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
