Calponin is a thin filament associated protein that binds calmodulin, actin and tropomyosin. The multi-gene family of calponins includes calponin 1 (CNN1), 2 (CNN2) and 3 (CNN3). CNN1 is expressed in smooth muscle and tissues containing significant amounts of smooth muscle. This antibody is predicted to detect all three forms of calponin. Application: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunocytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.25-0.5ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile dH20. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
