Cathepsin D, Recombinant, Human (CatD, CLN10, CPSD, CTSD, Lysosomal aspartyl peptidase, MGC2311)

Cathepsin D is synthesized as a 54kD precursor, which is proteolytically processed to an intermediate 48kD single chain, which matures into more stable 34kD and 14kD two chain form. It is an estrogen-regulated lysosomal protease that has been suggested to facilitate cancer cell migration and invasion by digesting the basement membrane, extracellular matrix, and xonnective tissue. Because of its mitogenic and proteolytic activities, it has been implicated as a prognostic marker in many tumor types. Cathepsin D is expressed in epithelial cells as well as in macrophages.\n\nRecombinant Cathepsin shows a band at 48kD on SDS-PAGE commassie blue stained gel.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Inhibition assays.\n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nFor long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -20/-70 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months.
