Cathepsin L is a cystein protease. It is important for the overall degradation of proteins in lysosomes. Cathepsin L substrates include collagen, elastin and alpha 1 protease inhibitor. The protein is initially expressed as procathepsin L (42kD) and is proteolytically processed into 30kD and 21kD forms. This antibody recognises both precursor and mature forms.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot . Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 2ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (formalin/acetone fixed tissues): 4ug/ml
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
