CD105, Recombinant, Human (Endoglin, gp160, TGF beta1,3 Receptor, ENG, END, ORW, HHT1, ORW1, FLJ41744)

CD105 (26-176 a.a.) or Endoglin or GP160 is a Type I transmembrane protein, which is highly expressed on human vascular endothelial cells, activated macrophages, fibroblasts, and smooth muscle cells. It exists as an O- and N-glycosylated homodimer of 180kD. Up-regulation of endoglin expression has been demonstrated in tumor vasculature and proliferating cells, suggesting that it is a proliferation-associated endothelial cell marker. Endoglin has been found to be part of the TGF-beta1 receptor complex. It thus may be involved in the binding of TGF-beta1, TGF beta3, activin-A, BMP-2, and BMP-7. CD105 binds to TGF Beta1 and Beta3 with high affinity but not TGF-Beta2Beside TGF-beta signaling endoglin may have other functions. It has been postulated that endoglin is involved in the cytoskeletal organization affecting cell morphology and migration. Endoglin has a role in the development of the cardiovascular system and in vascular remodeling. Its expression is regulated during heart development. Experimental mice without the endoglin gene die due to cardiovascular abnormalities.\n\nCD105 Human Recombinant extracellular domain produced in E. coli is a single, glycosylated, polypeptide containing 151 amino acids (26-176) and having a molecular mass of 43kD.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Inhibition Assays, Western Blotting.\n\nStorage and Stability: \nEndoglin although stable at 15 degrees C for 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -18 degrees C. \nFor long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).\nStore vial at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. When stored at the recommended temperature, this protein is stable for 12 months. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
