CD106 is expressed predominantly on endothelial cells and expression is up-regulated during inflammation. The ligand for CD106 is the alpha 4 subunit (CD49d) of the integrin VLA-4 (CD49d/CD29). Reported to partially block VCAM-1 mediated functions (1). The Fc region of monoclonal antibodies may bind non-specifically to cells expressing low affinity Fc receptors. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry (frozen). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:100-1:200; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Lewis rats. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
