The CD14 molecule has been reported to be involved in the endotoxin mediated release of Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha by monocytic cells (see S.D. Wright et al.). Inhibits the endotoxin induced release of TNF by monocytes because it blocks the binding of LPS-LBP to monocytes. CD14 is present on most monocytic and macrophage like cell types: monocytes, macrophages, Kupffer cells, pleural phagocytic cells and dendritic reticular cells. CD14 is present in low density on a subpopulation granulocytes and activated or transformed B-cells. The antibody reacts with both soluble and monocyte surface CD14. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 5ul is required per 10e6 cells. Excitation: 488nm. Peak Emission: 575nm Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degrees C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for at least 12 months at 4 degrees C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
