CD184, otherwise known as CXCR4 (C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4), is a transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family, ubiquitously expressed in blood and tissue cells, which acts as a specific receptor for the chemokine SDF-1 (Stromal cell-derived factor 1). Interaction of CD184 with SDF-1 mediates the chemotaxis of progenitor and mature blood cells, and is critical for B- lymphopoiesis and myelopoiesis. CD184 is a major co-receptor for infection by T-cell tropic strains of HIV1, and also a primary receptor for some HIV2 isolates. .
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
