The CD2 antigen (LFA-2) is a monomeric 45-58kD glycoprotein. It is an accessory molecule important in mediating the adhesion of activated T cells and thymocytes with antigen-presenting cells and target cells. This antibody reacts with the majority of T cells in peripheral lymphoid tissue, NK cells, cortical thymocytes and most malignant cells of T cell origin.
