The T-cell receptor-CD3 complex (CD3-TCR) plays an important role in mediating signaling transduction. The CD3-TCR complex consists of either a TCR alpha/beta or TCR gamma/delta heterodimer co-expressed at the cell surface with the CD3 subunits: CD3 gamma, CD3 delta, CD3 epsilon and CD3 zeta. These subunits are single-pass type I membrane proteins expressed on normal peripheral blood lymphocytes, thymocytes and Purkinje cells in the cerebellum.
