CD31 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This heavily glycosylated protein is found in the entire vascular endothelium of adult mice and functions in mediating cellular adhesion by heterophilic and homophilic mechanisms. CD31 is detected within the lymphopoietic islands in the spleen of newborn (day 12) and in the bone marrow of adult mice. Capillary endothelial cells of adult mice also express CD31. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Additional info: Recognizes the murine form of CD31. Reacts specifically with the isoform of the molecule that is selectively expressed by endothelial cells. Precipitates a 130kD molecule present on the membrane of endothelial cell presents on all mouse blood vessels both in normal and inflamed or tumor tissues.
