PECAM-1 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This heavily glycosylated protein is found in the entire vascular endothelium of adult mice and functions in mediating cellular adhesion by heterophilic and homophilic mechanisms. Reacts with the major population of colony forming unit macrophage (CFU-M) precursor cells, with a subpopulation of pre CFU-M and monoblasts, and with precursor cells of granulocytes. PECAM-1 is detected within the lymphopoietic islands in the spleen of newborn (day 12) and in the bone marrow of adult mice. Capillary endothelial cells of adult mice also express PECAM-1. The monoclonal antibody can be used, in combination with the monoclonal antibody, for
identification of different stages of myeloid progenitor cell development.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry: 1:50
Immunohistochemistry (frozen or paraffin): 1:50
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
