CD4 is a single chain transmembraneous glycoprotein (59kD) which belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. The CD4 antigen is expressed on a T cell subset (helper/inducer) representing 45 percent of peripheral blood lymphocytes and at a lower level on monocytes. Most cases of cutaneous T cell lymphoma, including mycosis fungoides, express the CD4 antigen and HTLV-1 associated adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma is also generally CD4 positive.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:20-1:40 for 60 minutes at 25C. High temperature antigen removal using EDTA retrieval solution, pH 8.0, is recommended. Recommended fixative is 10% neutral-buffered formalin. See further technical notes in protocol.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
