The glycoprotein Ib-IX complex on the surface of normal platelets is a heterotrimer of Iba, Iba and IX subunits8. Ib-IX complex is an essential component of platelet adhesion to vascular subendothelium and is also important in the maintenance of platelet shape9. This antibody is suitable for enumeration of platelets by flow cytometry and immunoperoxidase staining of frozen tissue sections or air dried smear preparations7, and for identification of megakaryoblasts in acute myeloid leukemia or acute myelofibrosis6,7
