CD49d is a 150kD glycoprotein, also known as a4 integrin or VLA-4 a chain. It is a member of the integrin family, expressed on T and B cells, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils, mast cells, thymocytes, NK cells, and dendritic cells. CD49d is a heterodimer expressed with either of two b chains, b1 (CD29) or b7, to form the VLA-4 (integrin a4b1) or LPAM-1 (integrin a4b7) complexes. CD49d plays a critical role in both adhesion and T cell costimulation. The primary ligands for CD49d are VCAM-1, MAdCAM-1, and fibronectin. This antibody, in combination with the C2404-40A monoclonal antibody, completely blocks VCAM-1 binding to VLA-4. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: (same/less than)1ug/10e6 cells in 100ul volume Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
