CD49f can form distinct complexes with either the CD29-antigen (VLA beta-chain), resulting in the VLA-6 (alpha-6 beta-1) complex, which is expressed on human platelets, or with the beta-4 integrin resulting in the alpha-6 beta-4 complex which is expressed on various human epithelial cells. Platelet VLA-6 functions as a laminin receptor. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): Reacts with epithelial cells of a variety of tissues, peripheral nerves, microvascular endothelial cells, placenta cyto- and syncytiotrophoblasts. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. IHC Postive Control: Human Tonsil Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from immunized Sprague-Dawley rats. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
