In cutaneous melanocytic lesions, the level of expression of three integrin subunits (alpha-2, alpha-6 and beta-3) has been found to be correlated with tumor progression. Directed against alpha-6-integrins (Laminin receptor, VLA-6) shows a cytoplasmic staining pattern of uveal and cutaneous melanoma cells. Antibody blocks binding of integrin alpha-6 to Laminin P1 and E8. In Western blot reactive with two major bands of 120kD and 140kD under non-reducing conditions.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry: 1:5-1:10
Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:5-1:10
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
