Human CD5 is believed to be an alternative signaling molecule found on all mature T cells, on most thymocytes and on a subpopulation of mature B cells expressing autoantibodies. The ligand for CD5 is CD72. Recognizes epitope 2 of the CD5 molecule of approximately 67kD. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 5x10e5 cultured CEM human tumor cells were washed and incubated 45 min on ice with 80ul of anti-CD5 antibody at 5ug/ml. Cells were washed twice and incubated with 50ul of Goat anti-Mouse IgG/FITC at a 1:60 dilution factor, after which they were washed three times and fixed. Cells stained positive with a mean shift of 1.04 log10 fluorescent units when compared to a Mouse IgG1 negative control at a similar concentration. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
