The CD51 antigen, alpha chain of vitronectin receptor (VNR-alpha chain) forms a complex with:
the CD61 antigen (GP IIIa or Beta-3 chain) resulting in the alpha- beta-3 complex, which is expressed on human platelets; the beta-5 integrin, resulting in the alpha-beta-5 complex, which is expressed on human monocytes and marcophages; the beta-1 integrin, resulting in the alpha-beta-1 complex. The platelet alpha-beta-3 complex functions as a vitronectin receptor and platelet adhesion to vitronectin is inhibited by this monoclonal antibody.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Indirect Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Fluorescent Microscopy and Functional studies on vitronectin receptor on human platelets . Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
