CD54 cell surface antigen, also known as intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), is a 90kD adhesion molecule belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. The rat ICAM-1 molecule has an important role in various cell-cell interactions in the immune system. IP analysis shows that the antigen has the same features as human ICAM-1. In addition, recent studies suggest that cross-linking of ICAM-1 induces calcium signalling.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry: Neat-1:5; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
