CD54, also known as ICAM-1 and major group rhinovirus receptor, is a type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed by activated endothelial cells, and also many other cell lineages following activation by inflammatory mediators.\nCD54 acts as a ligand for LFA-1 (CD11a/ITGB2) and the leukocyte specific integrin CR4 (CD11c/ITGB2). The soluble form of CD54 (sCD54), produced by proteolytic cleavage of membrane-bound CD54, has been detected at increased levels in patients with abnormalities of the liver, including active cirrhosis, viral- and drug-induced hepatitis and chronic active hepatitis, and also in patients with tuberculosis.\n\nSource:\nRecombinant human sCD54 produced in CHO cells.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in In vitro Assays. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
