Human CD58 is a cell surface glycoprotein that functions as an adhesion molocule and mediates costimulatory activity through its ligand CD2, which is expressed on T and natural killer cells (1,2). CD58 has wide cellular distribution on both hemopoietic and non-hemopoietic cells with strong expression on macrophages and memory T cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 5x10e5 cultured Nalm-6 cells were washed after which they were incubated 45 min on ice with 80ul of anti-CD58 antibody at 10ug/ml. Cells were washed twice and incubated with Goat anti-Mouse IgG/FITC, after which they were washed three times, fixed and analyzed by FACS. Cells stained positive with a mean shift of 1.46 log10 fluorescent units when compared to a Mouse IgG1 negative control at a similar concentration. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
