CD6 is a transmembrane member of the group B scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) superfamily. It is expressed at low levels on immature thymocytes and at high levels on mature thymocytes. The majority of peripheral blood T cells, a subset of B cells, and a subset of neuronal cells express CD6. CD6 functions as a costimulatory molecule in T cell activation, and its interaction with ALCAM promotes thymocyte development. Additionally, CD6 mediates the adhesion of T cells to ALCAM-positive neuronal cells. The human and murine proteins share 70% aa identity over their full-lengths.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 0.5-2ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Hybridoma:
Mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, NS0-derived, recombinant mouse CD6..
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS, sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
