CD61 is expressed on megakaryocytes, platelets and their precursors. It functions in platelet aggregation and is also a receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor and vitronectin. This antibody will help detect CD61 and be a marker for platelets and megakaryocytes in normal and uncharacterized tissues. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100 for 1 hr. at RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Tonsil (staining pattern platelets) Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
