CD63, also known as LAMP-3 or ME491 (melanoma- associated antigen), is a member of the tetraspanin superfamily of protein trafficking proteins. CD63 is ubiquitously expressed and found in late endocytic vesicles, but following cell activation is also present on the plasma membrane. CD63 interacts with other membrane proteins or adaptors to regulate activities such as adhesion, migration and degranulation. The 238aa CD63 migrates at 30-60kD, depending on post-translational modification. Extracellular regions of mouse CD63 share 94% and 67% aa identity with rat and human CD63, respectively.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 1x10e6 cells in 100ul
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
