CD71 is a 200kD antigen which is otherwise known as transferrin receptor. CD71 is expressed by all proliferating cell populations and exists as a homodimer at the cell surface. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Functional Assays and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Y3-Ag1.2.3 rat myeloma cells with spleen cells from immunized rats. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Additional info: Recognizes mouse CD71. Inhibits iron uptake and cell proliferation but does not compete with transferrin for binding to its receptor, which suggests that C2426-15H binds to an epitope that is different from the transferrin-binding site (1).
