Applications: Suitable for subset analysis of the developmental stage of mouse cells and as a proliferation marker. Applications in flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation and immunohistochemistry. Recommended Dilutions: Flow cytometry: use 1ug to stain 1x10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: Recognizes the mouse transferrin receptor protein on the surface of most dividing cells. The function of the transferrin receptor is believed to be mainly nutritional. Alternatively, it has been suggested that a growth signal might be provided by the interaction of transferrin and transferrin receptor. The CD71 is present on most dividing cells, including normally cycling in vivo hematopoietic progenitor cells, mitogenically stimulated cells in vitro, some primary tumor cells and most proliferating cells in vitro.
