CD72 is a 39-43kD type II transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells from early precursor stages through mature B cells, but not on plasma cells. While its precise function is unclear, CD72 has been reported to bind CD5, suggesting a role in regulating T and B cell activation and proliferation.1-3 Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with 1ml ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: Recognizes human CD72 at 39 and 43kD. The antigen is present on pre-B-cells in fetal liver and bone marrow, on all mature peripheral B- lymphocytes and is lost in terminal differentiation. It stains also B-lymphocytes in tissue sections.
