CD75 (CDw75)

CD75, formally was CDw75, is expressed on mature sIg+ B cells, germinal center B cells of the lymphoid secondary follicle, a small subpopulation of peripheral blood T cells, erythrocytes, and on a broad range of epithelial cell types and weakly on normal lymphocytes. The level of expression increases on activation of B cells. CD75 epitopes are present on glycosphingolipids but their presence on glycoproteins is unclear. CD75 is an ill-defined carbohydrate structure present on N-glycans which contain a2,6-linked sialic acid, NeuAc a2,6 Gal b1,4 GlcNAc core epitope. Some cells but not all are lacking CD75 expression of the antigen when transfected with the Golgi enzyme b -galactoside a2 ,6-sialyltransferase, EC 2.4.99.1. CD75 is found on B lymphocytes of patients with carbohydrate deficiency glycoprotein syndrome.\n\nStructure: Sialoglycan -> carbohydrate with CD designation.\n\nLigands:\nNo ligand has been identified. CD75 is not a ligand for the lectin CD22, which binds the sialoglycoconjugate NeuAc a2->6Gal b1->4GlcNAc. Sialoglycan ligand for CD22 mediating B-B interactions. The function contains cell adhesion, a ligand for CD22.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin sections, Protease pretreatment required).\n\nRecommended Dilution: \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nTonsil\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 degrees C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Reactive with: human. Reactive with a cell surface sialoprotein, sensitive to neuraminidase, present on a subpopulation of mature B cells, mainly germinal center B cells. In normal lymphoid tissues, epithelial cells from several organs and in the bone marrow red blood cell precursors are stained. The antibody is an excellent marker for B-cell malignancies.
