The T cell coreceptor CD8 is a cell-surface glycoprotein expressed either as a disulfide-linked homodimer of two CD8alpha monomers, or a heterodimer of CD8alpha and CD8beta. These receptors interact with ligands, such as major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I, on the outside of the cell, with proteins inside the cell, such as the tyrosine kinase p56lck, and possibly with proteins on the same cell-surface. CD8 plays an important role in T cell development in the thymus and T cell activation in the periphery. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:10,000. Rat and mouse samples are useful in Western Blot only. Immunohistochemistry: 1:250-1:500 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Manufactured incorporating RabMAb(R) technology under Epitomics US patents, No 5,675,063 and 7,429,487, owned by Abcam.
