CD80 is a 60 kD single chain type I glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, also known as B7-1, B7, and BB1. CD80 is expressed on activated B and T cells, macrophages and dendritic cells. CD80 binds to CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4). Along with CD86, CD80 plays a critical role in regulation of T cell activation. The interaction of CD80 with CD28 provides a potent co-stimulatory signal for T cell activation through the CD3 complex, while its interaction with CTLA-4 provides inhibitory signal for T cell activation. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry.. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
