CD86 is an 80kD immunoglobulin superfamily member, also known as B7-2, B70, and Ly-58. CD86 is expressed on activated B and T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells and astrocytes. CD86 binds to CD28 to transduce co-stimulatory signals for T cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine production. The GL1 antibody can block the mixed lymphocyte reaction in vitro and has been shown to inhibit the priming of cytotoxic T lymphocytes in vivo (along with antibodies against B7-1). Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: (same/less than)0.25ug/10e6 cells in 100ul Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
