CDX2 is a caudal type homeobox gene that encodes an intestine-specific transcription factor that is expressed early in intestinal development and may be involved in the regulation of proliferation and differentiation of intestinal epithelial cells. It is expressed in the nuclei of epithelial cells throughout the intestine, from duodenum to rectum. The CDX2 protein is expressed in primary and metastatic colorectal carcinomas and has also been demonstrated in the intestinal metaplasia of the stomach and intestinal-type gastric cancer, while it is not expressed in the normal gastric mucosa. Studies have shown that CDX2 is superior marker compared to CK20. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:4000 (detection limit dilution; peptide coated on plate) Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml. Approximately 38kDa band observed in human kidney and liver lysates (calculated MW of 33.5kDa according to NP_001256.1). Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
