CCAAT/enhancer binding protein (C/EBP) gamma is a family of transcription factors all contain a highly conserved, basic-leucine zipper domain at the C-terminus that is involved in dimerization and DNA binding. C/EBP family of transcription factors regulates viral and cellular CCAAT/enhancer element-mediated transcription. C/EBP family consist of several related proteins, C/EBP alpha, beta, gamma, delta, that form homodimers and/or form heterodimers with each other. C/EBP proteins contain the bZIP region, which is characterized by two motifs in the C-terminal half of the protein; a basic region involved in DNA binding and a leucine zipper motif involved in dimerization. C/EBP gamma may cooperate with Fos to bind PRE-enhancer elements.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
ELISA:1:2000
Western Blot:1ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:
Human Lung and A549 cell lysates
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 monthsat -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Peptide Blocking:
Corresponding peptide is available for Peptide Blocking studies. See C2589-93B-P. Antibody
