Cerebellin-1, known also as CBLN1, Precerebellin or Cerebellin precursor, is a secreted membrane protein with a predicted molecular weight of 21kD. Cerebellin 1 is required for synapse integrity and synaptic plasticity and for the ER export and secretion of CBLN3. Cerebellin 1 exerts neuromodulatory functions including directly stimulating norepinephrine release via the adenylate cyclase/PKA-dependent signaling pathway; and indirectly enhances adrenocortical secretion in vivo, through a paracrine mechanism involving medullary catecholamine release. Research indicates that Cerebellin 1 may also be involved in a wider range of functions than have been so far demonstrated.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 10ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:
Human prostate
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
