Chitinase 3-Like-1 (CHI3L1) is a recently discovered human glycoprotein which is related in amino acid sequence to the chitinase protein family, but has no chitinase activity. CHI3L1 is upregulated in a number of cancers and in non-neoplatic disease states characterized by chronic inflammation and tissue remodeling. Its pattern of expression is associated with pathogenic processes related to inflammation, extracellular tissue remodeling, fibrosis and solid carcinomas. CHI3L1 may play an important role in the capacity of cells to respond to and cope with changes in their environment. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:250-1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
