A potent and highly selective inhibitor of glycogen synthase kinase-3beta (GSK-3b) (IC50 = 6.7nM). CHIR99021 has been shown to allow for long-term expansion of murine embryonic stem cells in a chemically-defined medium in conjunction with MEK/MAPK inhibitor PD184352 and fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) inhibitor SU5402. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Protect from air. Light sensitive.
