Cholecystokinin A receptor, a Cholecystokinin Receptor, binds sulfated CCK, particularly CCK8. The CCKA receptor mediates gallbladder contraction, gastric emptying, relaxation of the sphincter of Oddi, and insulin secretion. It is also inolved in pancreatic growth, enzyme secretion, and tumorigenesis. Cholecystokinin A receptor has been reported in brain, colon, gall bladder, gastrointestinal tract, kidney, pancreas, small intestine, spinal cord, and stomach. ESTs have been isolated from mouse kidney and heart libraries.
