Cofilin 2 is expressed in developing skeletal muscle at early fetal stages through to a young postnatal stage. During postnatal development, cofilin 1 expression in muscle is down-regulated and cofilin 2 becomes the only isoform in mature skeletal muscle. The onset of cofilin 2 expression is coupled with terminal differentiation of muscle cells. It is suggested that cofilin 2 could be associated with actin filaments in muscle cells more efficiently than cofilin 1.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:128,000
Western Blot: 0.01-0.3ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
