Human plasma proteins do not interfere with collagen binding. Collagen is located in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues. It is part of the interacting network of proteoglycans and proteins that provides a structural framework for both soft and calcified connective tissues. Type IV collagen forms a two-dimensional reticulum and is a major component of the basal lamina.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Dot Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nImmunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:20 if peroxidase labeled secondary is used. If FITC is used, dilute 1:10. Not tested on paraffin.\nELISA: Native human Collagen IV\nDot Blot: Native human Collagen IV\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nIHC Positive Control:\nHuman kidney, liver, skin, heart\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes human Collagen IV. Minimal crossreactions with other collagens were only found if 5-10 times higher concentrations were used of other collagens. Does not react with fibronectin, fibrinogen or laminin.
