Collagen Type VII

Type VII collagen is a newly characterized collagen which appears to be the major component of the anchoring fibril. \nType VII collagen fibrils are composed of three identical alpha collagen chains. It's location is restricted to the basement zone beneath stratified squamous epithelia. It functions as an anchoring fibril between the external epithelia and the underlying stroma. Mutations in the collagen V11 gene are associated with all forms of dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
