C3a is a component of complement C3 produced by its activation. It has a molecular weight of 8,900. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and Radial Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunoelectrophoresis: 120ul against 2ul human plasma or equivalent. Double Radial Immunodiffusion: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul in 3mm diameter center well and 2ul plasma samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter peripheral wells. Single Radial Immunodiffusion: 1% in gel Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: Recognizes the C3a subunit of human complement C3. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion against human plasma a single precipitin line is obtained and shows a reaction of full identity with the purified immunogen. Does not react with any other protein component of human serum or plasma.
