Complement C3b, Human

The antibody allows demonstration of C3 deposition in the tissue or on cells. It should be used in combination with an additional antibody to the C3 alpha chain (positive control) and an antibody to a determinant on C3a (negative control). Activated, deposited C3b bears the C3b alpha-chain and beta-chain determinants but no longer the C3a determinants, whereas ubiquitous or non-specifically absorbed C3 is still C3a-positive.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nImmunohistochemistry: Frozen sections\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nSource: \nAscites\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes a determinant present on native human (circulating) C3 and on the fragments C3b and C3c. The antibody is directed to a determinant present on the beta-chain of the C3-molecule as determined by Western Blot. Does not crossreact with anaphylatoxin C3a or fragment C3d. Does not inhibit the hemolytic function of C3.
