Constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) is a member of orphan receptor. CAR is mainly expressed in liver and lower levels of expression are observed in heart, muscles, kidney and lung. CYP3A and CYP2B are regulated by CAR, which suggest xenobiotics can activate multiple CYP genes through this receptor. Mouse homolog is induced by phenobarbital and CAR-null mouse demonstrate resistance to acetaminophen toxicity. CAR affects metabolism of drugs and other xenobiotics.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunoprecipitation: 1:50-1:200
Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000
Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
