SARS Coronavirus is an enveloped virus containing three outer structural proteins, namely the membrane (M), envelope (E), and spike (S) proteins. Spike (S)-glycoprotein of the virus interacts with a cellular receptor and mediates membrane fusion to allow viral entry into susceptible target cells. Accordingly, S-protein plays an important role in virus infection cycle and is the primary target of neutralizing antibodies.\n\nSARS-ACE contains the Enevelope protein immunodominant regions, amino acids: (1-76).\n\nSpecificity:\nImmunoreactive with sera of SARS-infected individuals\n\nApplications:\nRecombinant SARS-ACE Antigen may be used in ELISA and Western Blot, excellent for detection of SARS with minimal specificity problems.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
