CPT1B (Carnitine O palmitoyltransferase I mitochondrial muscle isoform, Carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A (muscle), Carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1B (muscle), Carnitine palmitoyltransferase I like protein, carnitine palmitoyltransferase I muscle, CPT1M, CPTI (muscle), KIAA1670, MCPT1) is directed against targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissues. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognize native protein in any application.\n\nCPT1B is a member of the carnitine/choline acetyltransferase family and is the rate controlling enzyme of the long chain fatty acid beta oxidation pathway in muscle mitochondria. This enzyme is required for the net transport of long chain fatty acyl CoAs from the cytoplasm into the mitochondria. At least four transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene, and one of the transcripts is bicistronic. In addition, two of the transcripts utilise alternative polyadenylation signals.\n\nCellular Localization: Mitochondrial\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
