Crystallin AB (CryAB) is a developmentally regulated small heat shock protein known to protect cells from stress damage. It may also play an important role in the Golgi reorganization during cell division. CryAB is known to be associated with a number of neurodegenerative pathologies such as Alzheimer disease amd multiple sclerosis. As well, it has been found to be expressed in breast tumors of patients with shorter survival, suggesting that it may be a useful marker in identifying aggressive breast cancer. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 10ug/ml. Validated for use on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with C7944-60E, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
