Cryopreservation Media (BRFF GTC-80, Freezing Media Pair) is used to cryopreserve suspensions of viable cells detached from monolayer cultures using the "cold trypsin" method with PET (catalog# P3357). Cells which have been cryopreserved in this media have been shown to have superior viability upon reconstitution. The Freezing Media Pair has been used extensively to cryopreserve human cells grown in serum-free media. Suggested Use: To cryopreserve cells, centrifuge the cell suspension. Resuspend the cells at 4x10e6 cells/ml in ice-cold Solution A. Slowly add an equal volume of ice-cold Solution B to the cell suspension. Mix well. Transfer 1ml aliquots of the cell suspension to pre-cooled cryovials. Freeze slowly using an automatic controlled rate (1 degrees C per minute) freezer to -90 degrees C. Alternatively, place the cryovials inside a Styrofoam rack and place the rack in a -80 degrees C mechanical freezer for 24 hours. Transfer the frozen vials to a liquid nitrogen freezer (vapor phase) for permanent storage. Kit components: C7938A Solution A 2x25ml C7938B Solution B 2x25ml Storage and Stability: Store at -70 degrees C. Stable for at least 12 months. Stability at 4 degrees C: 3 months pH: 7.7-7.9 for a 1:1 mixture of Solution A and Solution B.
