CUL5, NT (VACM-1, Vasopressin-activated calcium-mobilizing receptor, Cullin-5, CUL-5, CUL5, VACM1)

CUL5 is a core component of multiple SCF-like ECS (Elongin-Cullin 2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes, which mediate the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. As a scaffold protein may contribute to catalysis through positioning of the substrate and the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme. The functional specificity of the E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex depends on the variable substrate recognition component. ECS(SOCS1) seems to direct ubiquitination of JAk2. It seems to be involved poteosomal degradation of p53/TP53 stimulated by adenovirus E1B-55kD protein and may form a cell surface vasopressin receptor.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000\nELISA: 1:2000-1:10,000\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:500\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
